About 5th Gear Driving School

Welcome to 5th Gear Driving School, an independent driving school based in Woking, Surrey and operated by Stuart Cawthorne. I am a fully qualified DSA Approved Driving Instructor (Grade 5) of several years standing. I am also a registered Pass Plus instructor, hold the RoSPA Advanced Driving Award (Gold) am a Member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and the Driving Instructors Association.

Why 5th Gear Driving School?

My aim is to

• teach you to drive to a high standard in as short a time as is reasonably possible
• ensure that while you are learning, you enjoy your lessons and experience as wide a range of driving environments as possible.

This is essential if you are to acquire the full range of skills necessary to drive confidently and safely on today’s crowded roads Learning to drive is not simply about acquiring the skills to drive a car, it is equally important that you learn to be a safe driver.

To ensure you get the most from your training, your course of driving lessons will be structured to suit your personal needs. Your progress will be monitored through a personal record plan which will provide the basis for developing and practising your skills.

Driving lessons are available for 1-2 hours or more and are provided on a one to one basis. They include a free door to door pick up/drop off service from your home, college or place of work. You will not be asked to share a lesson and smoking in the car is not permitted.
